An 8” steel irrigation line required replacement but ran through a narrow park strip.
The line was over 60 years old and located less than five feet below the surface. Faced with the challenge of replacing the pipe in such limited space, Nix employed a pipe bursting technique which allowed a new line to be run while leaving the landscaping virtually undisturbed. Also notable, we used a restrained-joint PVC pipe instead of another more traditional material like HDPE. The restrained-joint PVC provided improved mechanical properties, higher pressure ratings, and better flow performance than other materials, which added another positive element to an already successful project.
