Needing to replace an 18” sewer line with a 27” line, Nix employed a pilot tube ramming technique to minimize the disruption to the heavily traveled neighborhood above.
Within a confined, densely populated area, Nix ran five different bores while affecting only one lane of traffic. Thanks to ground-penetrating radar, we identified the numerous existing utilities and ran over 650 feet of sewer line though a variety of ground conditions, from sand to cobble rock. Each bore found its destination, right on the money, and those at the numerous businesses and residences in the area were undisturbed by our efforts underground.
