Noland Construction (Salt Lake, UT) asked us to construct a 36 inch sewer across I-15 in American Fork, UT. The project was part of a larger UDOT job called Pioneer Crossing. We installed 335 feet of 48 inch steel casing on a 0.4% grade under the freeway using a 3 pass pilot tube microtunneling technique. After the casing was bored across, we slid 36 inch PVC sewer pipe on spacers through the steel casing. The ground conditions on this project were extremely wet and weak soils. The selected method of installation worked perfectly. The 48 inch casing entered the reception pit (335 feet away) right on grade!
