LABORER
Classification: Regular - Full Time 40+ hours per week
Grade: Hourly-Non Exempt
Salary Range: $10.00-15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Experience Required: None
Supervisor: Foreman
General Summary:
Helps to maintain efficient flow of an underground pipeline construction crew. Requires problem solving and communication skills to be able to see work that needs to be done and express any issues to foreman.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Watch banks of trenches to ensure safety
- Hook pipe, grease pipe and check it is safely attached to sling
- Keep tools and truck organized
- Keep job site organized and clean
- Inventory materials needed for job
- Equipment safety
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Good communication - for safety reasons the ability to understand English is required; bilingual is a plus
- Problem solving skills
- Self motivation
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and-or pull 100lbs safely for 20% of the time
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to climb, crouch and-or crawl
- Must have good depth perception
Working Conditions:
There is the possibility of long hours. Must have reliable transportation. Occasional regional travel.
